We are thrilled to announce that our very own Janet Parker has been awarded an MBE by His Majesty, the King, for her outstanding service and dedication to Girlguiding and the community.
Janet is a Brownie leader in Hampshire West, but has also holds several region-level roles, including trainer and chair of the Girl Experience committee. She is also a trustee of Girlguiding South West England. She is known to many in guiding because of her kindness, positive spirit and ability to 'get things done'! She is a people person - always striving to do her best (keeping her promise) to give the members of our region the very best experience of guiding. The award is very well-deserved and we are so proud that she is a member of our region.
Racheal Tattum, Chief Commissioner, said: "I am so proud that Janet Parker has been recognised for her time and dedication to Girlguiding South West England. It is a real pleasure to volunteer with Janet in her role as chair of Girl Experience and trustee for our region. Her guidance and support to the delivery of Girlguiding to our members across the region is exceptional. Thank you Janet for all you have done and continue to do for us."
