Girlguiding South West England and The Institute for Civil Engineers have developed a fantastic resource for Guides and Rangers aged 10-18, which includes activities such as bridge building, and solving water distribution following a natural disaster.
The Civil Engineering Pack is a great way for our young members to develop their problem-solving skills, creativity, and teamwork skills. It is also a great way to inspire young members to consider a career in civil engineering.
The Civil Engineering Challenge Pack can be downloaded here.

One group that has trialled the pack said:
“I'm incredibly excited to see this badge launching in the South West. It represents a wonderful moment where my volunteering life and my professional life come together in a flurry of badges! It’s fantastic to see Girlguiding embracing civil engineering as a potential career path. I hope it inspires many young people to explore the opportunities our industry has to offer.” – Gemma Maynard, Unit Leader, and Civil Engineer and ICE STEM volunteer.
