We have worked together with Specialist Nurses from NHS Blood and Transplant to create an exciting challenge pack for all Girlguiding sections. Health promotion and awareness is an important topic, and this challenge pack will explore how people can be helped through blood, organ and tissue donation, along with encouraging and highlighting why it is important to think about our own values and beliefs.
Through understanding this resource with your unit, you will be encouraging young people to think about the importance of making a choice that is right for them. This is a key part of our Promise – to be true to ourselves and to think about and develop our beliefs.
"When I first heard about the pack I was a little nervous, but reading it, I feel it has been delivered in such a wonderful and careful way! I'm going to have great fun with my Brownies whilst encouraging them to stay true to themselves. I have also learned a great deal myself just by reading through the pack" Emily, Brownie Leader
Included in the pack, is a letter template to send out to parents to inform them that their girls' units will be taking part. Many activities are not explicitly about blood or organ donation but may be about our bodies and health in general, kindness, helping others and how we communicate messages and decisions.
