I started my guiding life as a Brownie and was a member of the pixie six. I moved onto Guides and had many adventures. Guides is where I discovered my joy for the out of doors. I love camping and cooking over an open fire, and I very proudly gained my Queens Guide in 1983.
I was a Ranger and a young leader, and gained my Silver DofE during my time in rangers.
I am currently a Brownie and Guide leader in Dorset and can also quite often. be found hanging out at our local camp site Dudsbury.
I have had several roles on my journey in becoming the Chief Commissioner. I have been a District, Division and County Commissioner, before becoming a deputy Chief Commissioner for the region.
I was first introduced to the region in 1993, when I was part of the region Junior Council team.
I love international travel and have taken any opportunity to travel with Girlguiding, visiting four of our world centres. I was also fortunate to be a guide leader for the world scout jamboree in 2019 visiting North America. I love being part of the division team taking our members to EuroDisney every 4 years.
Out of guiding, I run a retail photography business based in Bournemouth and Salisbury with my partner - which is helpful for popping into the region office on the odd occasion when necessary.
I also enjoy attending spin classes, anything crafty but particularly crochet which is helpful as I can take it with me on coach or train journeys to London.
I look forward to the new adventures this role will bring. Please do reach out to any of the chief team, we love getting out and about in our region.
