The Royal Navy and Girlguiding South West England are collaborating to provide our young members with fun and engaging opportunities at regional events or your unit meetings. Open to Guides and Rangers, you have the chance to have FREE Royal Navy visitors attend a unit meeting and provide the following workshops. The attract Team South West have supported numerous events and the opportunities are now open to Berkshire, Hampshire and Gloucestershire.
What a visit to your unit meeting can entail
Introduction – Attract Team introduction to what the Royal Navy does, personal stories of team members and ice breaking activities. Target age range 10-25, 30 maximum participants, allocate up to 20 mins.
Teamwork – A physical session focussing on teamwork, communication and problem solving to achieve a set aim. Hall/outdoor space required for participants to build structures. Target age range 11-25, maximum 30 participants and allow 1-2 hours for this activity.
Flarebox – Fun activity where participants design a paper flare and then as a group, witness flares being launched. Room required for build, outdoor space for the launching. Target age range 10-11, maximum 30 participants and allow 1-2 hours for this activity.
Practical Leadership Tasks – A variety of leadership tasks to solve, focussing on communication, teamwork and leadership. Hall or outdoor space required for participants to undertake tasks. Target age range 13-25, maximum 30 participants and allow 1-2 hours for this activity.
