"I'm Emma, the assistant volunteer for youth voice and participation team, overseeing the Spark network! I started my Girlguiding journey as a Rainbow in North East England. After going through the different levels of Guiding, at 16, I started my young leadership and, at 18, I became a leader.
Last October, I moved to the South West and began volunteering with a Rainbows unit in Bath. Outside of being a unit leader, I have also been fortunate enough to enjoy many other opportunities and responsibilities within Girlguiding. In 2018, I also became a peer educator and was inspired by all of the interesting projects associated with that. Since then, I have also qualified as a peer education trainer and had a brief stint as co-coordinator of peer education for the North East. Last year, I also took part in a GOLD (Girlguiding Overseas Linked with Development) project working with Guides from the UK and Greece.
I'm really excited to be taking on this new role to help amplify and further incorporate youth voice across the region!"
