I followed in my sister’s footsteps and started my guiding journey as a Brownie at age 7 and have been a member ever since. I had the most amazing opportunities as a young member; rowing on the river, camping in very basic conditions and travelling internationally being some of my stand out memories!
I took over a Guide unit at the age of 18 and went on to start a new Guide unit in LaSER when I moved for work. I returned to South West England region and have been with my current guide unit for 28 years. I also help with a Rainbow unit and am a District Commissioner and a Trainer.
Professionally, I have worked as a consultant in leadership and management development and executive coaching for over 30 years. I have been able to use my skills and knowledge within guiding in all my leadership roles, as a lead volunteer and as a trainer. I enjoy being able to work in a mentoring style, learning myself from younger members and being able to share with them any skills or knowledge I have that is helpful.
I would like all our young members to experience the wonder of being part of the diverse and special family of WAGGGS.
