Training Level 2 - Training weekends are open to any member of Guiding including Senior Section [18+]. It is an opportunity to extend your walking skills in Open Country, to learn how to lead groups safely in the hills and to work towards gaining a qualification. The course is of particular value to those involved in training/supervising Duke of Edinburgh Award groups. Some experience of walking in Open Country is advised.
Assessment Level 2 - Assessment weekends are open to members of Guiding who have:
- attended at least one approved Level 2 training course
- completed the Level 2 training to their satisfaction
- completed [or very nearly] all the log book walks required
- the confidence to lead a group on their own in Open Country
Log Book Walks - Log Book walks are an opportunity for members of Guiding to walk together for pleasure whilst increasing their number of log book walks. Walks will need to be 10 kms or 5 hours long. Walks will be mostly Level 2 terrain but may enter Level 3 terrain as well. Those choosing Log Book walking may attend either daily, overnight or stay for the whole weekend, fees will only cover food and accommodation.
