Sangam July/August 2011

The group from Hampshire North have arrived back safely from India. The girls had a great time and all made it to see the Taj Mahal at 5.00 am, although they witnessed the sunrise through a monsoon! They entered into their community projects with great enthusiasm - some like the Mahur project working with mentally disturbed women and street children were more difficult than others, but the girls rose to the challenges which faced them and were a credit to Hampshire North.

Sangam March 2011

As part of the Centenary celebrations, a group of Guiders and Trefoil Guild from South West England travelled to India in March of this year to visit Sangam – one of the four World Centres of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts. The Centre is situated on the banks of the Mula River in Pune, 120 miles from Mumbai. Whilst at Sangam the group visited the Mobile Creche, Doorstep School and Anand Gram. They involved themselves in various activities and learnt new skills in an all encompassing introduction to Indian culture. Click here to read a diary of their trip or visit the Sangam website.
