SWIYG

SWIYG LogoSouth West Inspired Young Guiders, or "SWIYG", was formed in April 2011 to be the new voice of young Guides and Guiders in the Region. SWIYG will be sending out regular Newsletters to Young Guiders within the Region at various times throughout the year to keep you up to date with their news, and they now have their own dedicated e-mail address to enable you to contact them: swiyg@girlguiding-southwestengland.org.uk.

Senior Section Say... "I Am Me: I Make My Own Choices!"

I Am Me GoodiesOur Senior Section Say... Task and Finish Group has devised this new campaign to promote the message that every girl is an individual and should feel confident and empowered to make their own decisions. The project is supported by Thiink Big, a funding programme for young people aged 13-25, which awarded the Task and Finish Group £300 and a mobile 'phone to help with the campaign. The Group plan to produce downloadable resources for Leaders to use when running meetings surrounding the issues which have been targetted by the "I Am Me" campaign. In the meantime, you can buy their new wristbands, cloth badges and pin badges through the Region's online shop. Each costs £2.00 plus postage and packing, and comes with a leaflet containing a selection of facts and quotes to help girls think about the way they see the world and the way they live their lives.
