Girlguiding is the United Kingdom’s largest voluntary organisation for girls and young women. The aim of Guiding is to help girls and young women develop emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually so that they can make a positive contribution to their community and the wider world.
In the South West there are 68,300 members aged between 5 and 25, and 3,900 groups run by 9,500 Leaders. Girlguides are grouped by age into four sections: Rainbow Guides, Brownie Guides, Guides and Senior Section members. All female members of Girlguiding are referred to using the generic term Guides.
The administration for the South West Region is centred on our offices in Salisbury. The Region is divided into 16 counties and islands as shown below.
