Girlguiding South West England 1 in 100 Centenary Award

The Girlguiding South West England Centenary Award – 1 in 100 may be for you or someone you guide with.
It can be gained by any member during the Centenary Year ie: aged 5 to 65 years between September 2009 and October 2010.
The 1 in 100 Award will be awarded to members who have done something special or gone that extra mile for the Centenary. This could be a Guiding activity or event for the Centenary that the candidate has arranged for their Unit, District, Division, County/Island, Region or Girlguiding UK, or it could be to recognise something special related to the centenary year.
Successful candidates will need to be able to show us that they have truly lived up to girls in the lead.
The nominee does not have to hold or have held a County/Island or a Region appointment to be considered and the award is not linked to the length of your service – it is for anyone.

Application Process

1. If you would like to nominate a member for the Region 1 in 100 Award please complete an application form (here) and send to Jenni Freeth, Executive Manager, at any time during the Centenary Year.
   
2. Each application must be supported by two proposers using the form here who should be adult or girl members.
   
3. Successful nominees will be invited to attend and receive their 1 in 100 Award from the Chief Commissioner at special presentation events held during 2010.
   
4. All applications will be considered by the Centenary Award Panel. The decision of the Panel will be final.
   
5. A maximum of 100 awards will be awarded during the Centenary Year.
   
6. The deadline for applications to be considered during the first part of the centenary year is 30 April 2010 and the final deadline for applications is 30 October 2010.
